Opstal Sixpence Cabernet Sauvignon 2024 pays tribute to the heart of the farm — Daniel “Sixpence” Smiles. In the 1950s and 60s, Sixpence cared for the sheep on these lands. As the vines slowly replaced the pastures, his legacy lived on. Today, Opstal honours him with a wine made from the very vineyards once under his watch.
This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is smooth, fruit-forward, and easy to love. It opens with bright red berries and plum, followed by subtle notes of darker fruit. The finish is soft, round, and effortlessly drinkable.
You can enjoy it on its own, feet up by the fireplace, or paired with your favourite comfort food. It goes beautifully with pizza, spaghetti bolognaise, or a proper South African braai.
