The Producer
This Stellenbosch red blend 2021 arrives without a label — and that’s the point. Sourced through WineTrader’s estate relationships, ‘The Unbroken’ is a parcel from a celebrated Stellenbosch producer who can’t release this wine under their own name. We protect their identity; you get insider access to serious, cellar-worthy wine.
Vintage & Terroir
The 2021 vintage was sourced from the same iconic koffieklip vineyards in Stellenbosch that built The Unbroken’s reputation — free-draining, mineral-rich soils that push the vines to work for every drop of flavour. Expect the same structured, cellar-worthy character the range is known for, with this vintage’s own layer of freshness.
In the Cellar
Fruit was fermented and matured using the same meticulous approach applied across the XCellar range — extended maceration for structure, followed by careful oak ageing to soften tannins while preserving the wine’s dark-fruited core. The result is a full-bodied red built to drink well now or hold for years to come.
Tasting Notes
On the nose: dark berries, dusty florals and a fine mineral edge. On the palate: full-bodied and firm, with structured tannins and layered complexity. Finish: long, food-friendly, with a graphite note that lingers.
Food Pairing
Built for the braai and beyond — pair with grilled red meat, boerewors, or a rich beef stew. Equally at home with hard cheeses and biltong for a low-key evening in. Order your case and keep the Tribe fed.
