General terms (applies to all Vinty competitions)

The following terms apply to all promotional competitions run by Vinty Wines (operated by The Wine Trader Pty Ltd), unless specific competition rules state otherwise at the point of entry.

• The competition is open to South African residents aged 18 years or older.
• Entrants must be 18 years or older, and proof of age may be required before a prize is awarded.
• Prizes will only be delivered to an address within South Africa where alcohol delivery is legally permitted.
• Prizes are not exchangeable for cash and are not transferable.
• Vinty reserves the right to substitute wines with wines of equal value should any wine become unavailable.
• Winners will be randomly selected (unless a different selection method is clearly disclosed for a specific competition) and contacted via email after the competition closes.
• By entering, participants agree to these terms and to any additional terms specific to the competition they are entering.
• Vinty reserves the right to use a winner’s first name and city of residence in public winner announcements (email, social media, website). Winners may opt out of public announcement by emailing hello@vinty.co.za before the announcement date.
• Employees, contractors and immediate family members of The Wine Trader Pty Ltd and any competition co-sponsor are not eligible to win.
• Vinty’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
• All competitions are conducted in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 of the Republic of South Africa and its regulations governing promotional competitions.
• Personal information collected through competition entry is processed in accordance with Vinty’s Privacy Policy and the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

Monthly Sign Up and Win Competition

Vinty runs a monthly “Sign Up and Win” draw on an ongoing basis. Each competition month runs from 00:00 on the 1st to 23:59 on the last day of the calendar month (South African Standard Time).

How to enter:

• Submit a valid entry via the Vinty sign-up form at vinty.co.za during the competition month. Only one entry per person per month is counted, regardless of how many times the form is submitted.

Eligibility for the draw:

• To be eligible for the monthly draw, an entrant must, as at the date of the draw, meet all of the following conditions:
  • (a) have submitted a valid entry during the competition month;
  • (b) be subscribed to receive marketing communications from Vinty Wines; and
  • (c) have engaged with at least one Vinty marketing email during the competition month, where “engaged” means having opened or clicked at least one email.
• The engagement criterion in clause (c) above applies to monthly draws taking place on or after 1 May 2026. For draws taking place before that date, only clauses (a) and (b) apply.
• Where fewer than fifty (50) entrants meet the engagement criterion in clause (c) for any given month, Vinty reserves the right to waive clause (c) for that month and conduct the draw from all entrants who meet clauses (a) and (b) only, to ensure a fair and credible random draw.

The draw:

• One winner is selected by random draw from all eligible entrants within the first seven (7) days of the month following the competition month.
• The winner is notified directly by email and publicly announced via Vinty’s email newsletter and social media channels, subject to the opt-out provision in the General Terms above.

Prize:

• The prize for each monthly draw is a full case of Vinty XCellar wine, unless a different prize is clearly announced for a specific month on the Vinty website or sign-up form at the start of that competition month.

Producer and one-off competitions

From time to time, Vinty runs producer-specific or one-off competitions (for example, the Neil Ellis Competition). These competitions may have additional or different rules (such as purchase-based entry, multiple winners, or specific prize structures). Specific terms for each of these competitions are disclosed on a dedicated page linked from the competition promotion and at the point of entry. The General Terms above still apply to all such competitions unless explicitly overridden by the specific rules.
