Groenland Pinotage Rosé 2026
Crafted specially for Heléne Steenkamp — 100% Pinotage, free-run juice only, and one of those rosés that disappears far too quickly once opened. Fresh strawberry, cranberry and bright sherbetty lift make this dangerously drinkable.
The Story
This rosé was created for Heléne Steenkamp — a tribute to the women who’ve helped shape Groenland across four generations of family winemaking. It’s personal, elegant and unmistakably Stellenbosch.
The vineyards lie on elevated south-west-facing slopes in the Bottelary Hills — one of Stellenbosch’s most respected red wine areas. Clay-rich granite and Malmesbury shale soils bring depth and concentration, while cooling False Bay breezes preserve freshness and natural acidity. It’s serious terroir, expressed in a beautifully easy-drinking style.
Tasting Notes
- Appearance: Pale salmon-pink
- Nose: Fresh strawberry, raspberry, cranberry and delicate floral perfume
- Palate: Dry, vibrant and crisp with juicy red berry fruit, tangy cranberry character and a refreshing sherbet-like lift
- Finish: Clean, lively and mouth-wateringly fresh
How It’s Made
Made from 100% Pinotage — South Africa’s signature grape. Only the free-run juice is used to preserve delicacy, purity and freshness. Cool fermentation in stainless steel keeps the wine bright, expressive and fruit-driven, with no oak influence whatsoever.
Food Pairings
Excellent with sushi, grilled prawns, fresh summer salads, linefish, or a light chicken dish. Also ideal slightly over-chilled on a warm afternoon with absolutely no plan beyond opening another bottle.
