The Story: A Rosé Reimagined by Jason Steel
Part of the Lekker Labels collection, the Steel Wines Lauraine Allison Rosé 2023 breaks away from the ordinary. Crafted by Jason Steel in the Robertson Valley, this elegant rosé is made from Cinsault grapes grown beside the Breede River near Bonnievale. With only a tiny 0.29-hectare vineyard producing roughly 1400 vines, every bottle reflects true small-batch craft.
Vineyards & Winemaking
The sandier, alluvial soils near the river lend freshness and minerality to the fruit. Grapes were whole-bunch pressed with approximately two hours of skin contact, fermented in stainless steel, and then aged for nine months in old French oak barrels — adding texture and palate weight while maintaining a bright, dry finish.
