Vintage & Terroir
The 2024 vintage delivered ideal conditions for Sauvignon Blanc across the Western Cape — warm, sun-filled days balanced by cool maritime breezes that preserved the grape’s trademark aromatic intensity and zippy acidity. The fruit for this wine comes from carefully selected cool-climate vineyard blocks where the coastal influence is most pronounced, producing grapes with concentrated green and tropical aromatics and a bright, mineral-edged freshness. The maritime character of the terroir shines through in the wine — vibrant, zesty and full of life, just like the coastline that inspired the label.
In the Cellar
The Sauvignon Blanc grapes were harvested in the cool pre-dawn hours to capture maximum aromatic intensity. After gentle whole-bunch pressing, the free-run juice was cold-settled and fermented at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks — a clean, reductive approach that preserved every ounce of the wine’s bright, zesty character. No oak was used — the goal was pure, unadulterated Sauvignon Blanc at its most refreshing. Bottled young and fresh to capture its youthful vibrancy and aromatic punch.
Tasting Notes
Appearance: Pale straw with a bright, lime-green tinge.
Nose: Bursting with citrus and gooseberry aromatics, layered with passion fruit, green fig and a hint of freshly cut grass. Vibrant and immediately inviting.
Palate: Crisp, zesty and full of life, with concentrated passion fruit and citrus flavours underpinned by mouth-watering acidity and a subtle mineral edge. The wine is clean, focused and utterly refreshing — a pure expression of Cape Sauvignon Blanc.
Finish: Bright, clean and lingering, with a citrus-driven tail that leaves you refreshed and ready for another sip.
Food Pairing
The ultimate seafood wine — pair with fresh West Coast oysters, grilled calamari, or pan-fried hake with tartare sauce. It’s also brilliant alongside sushi, a prawn and avo salad, or a tangy ceviche. For a coastal braai, try it with grilled crayfish tails or a fish braai with lemon and herbs. Serve ice-cold at 6–8°C — preferably with your toes in the sand.
