Not many know that Cabernet Sauvignon, a renowned red variety, has its roots in a white wine—thanks to a cross between Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc. Asara’s winemaking team harnessed this unique heritage to craft Asara White Cab 2019, South Africa’s first white Cabernet Sauvignon.

Our tasting panel was amazed by how this wine, despite being from an older vintage, still delivers exceptional freshness and vibrant flavors. The wine presents an enticing nose of white peach, grenadine, and tropical fruits, with subtle almond butter notes. On the palate, it offers a mouth-watering sweet entry of winter melon, perfectly balanced by the refreshing tang of gooseberries.
